Why Eat in Via delle Moline
Via delle Moline takes its name from the medieval mills that, since the Middle Ages, used the water of the Moline canal — a branch of the hydraulic system that crossed Bologna and powered its economy. The canal is covered today, but you can still glimpse it from a small "little window" on Via Piella, a few steps from the restaurant: one of the most photographed views in town.
The street is in the heart of the university quarter, among historic bookshops, artisan workshops and centuries-old porticoes. It is lively but intimate, perfect for a traditional Bolognese dinner after a day of sightseeing. Our cuisine was born here, in the same neighbourhood that inspired the name of the restaurant: tortellini in broth, tagliatelle al ragù, lasagne and tigelle prepared every day according to Emilian tradition.
